It all started in 1997 with a soft mouse called Nini (originally known as Mimi) in a small, rural collective of artists (named Moulin Roty after the mill that stood on the site) in the west of France.
From there, the Grand Family has continued to grow, and today there are 14 furry friends in the form of soft dolls, each fully dressed and available in two sizes (Littles & Tinys). 5 of the characters are also available in the larger ‘parent’ size.
The collection grew with the addition of comforters for little ones, puppets for older children, and, more recently, a range of cardboard early learning toys and themed carry cases, all beautifully illustrated and often featuring both French and English text.
The La Grande Famille range has become a firm favourite of many children all over the world. Children love animals, so it makes sense that this collection of highly personable animal friends would be much loved. The range is characterised by high-quality design and fabrics sourced in France and Europe.
