We love Holly Throsby, she is brilliant. She has had a successful career as a solo artist with beautiful albums such as A Loud Call and Under the Town, and also as part of a collaboration with Sarah Blasko and Sally Seltmann in the band Seeker Lover Keeper. We play this album in the shop all the time, because it is such lovely music.
You may have heard her cover version of Crowded House’s ‘Not The Girl You Think You Are’ which was released in September of 2005 on an album called She Will Have Her Way, which is an album of Crowded House cover versions performed by various female Australian artists.
A couple of years ago, in October 2010, she released an album of children’s songs, through ABC music. The album is called See! It is a collection of original children’s songs. Have you heard it?

You and your little ones might really enjoy this album, which features children singing and talking with Holly’s music and singing. See! was nominated for an ARIA award in 2011 in the category of Best Children’s Album.
She made the album for her friends who have children, because she was disillusioned by popular children’s music and wanted to listen to something fun and interesting while she was babysitting her friend’s children. If you are looking for something a bit different and very musical to play for your children this album might be just what you are looking for. It is not available on CD at the moment, but available from iTunes or to listen to on Spotify.
She performed the album at festivals in the capital cities of Australia with various musicians who collaborated with her on the making of the album.
Holly is now a mother herself and a vocal supporter of marriage equality and the protection of animals in Australia.
