This month marks the 10th year anniversary of our little toy boutique. We have not been online all that time, but 10 years ago we opened up our toy shop in Merimbula and filled it with beautiful European toys. Our customers were delighted. People do really appreciate a range of high quality toys rather than the standard selection of breakable, plastic kinds of toys that just end up in landfill.
To celebrate, I thought that we could look back at some of the Moulin Roty ranges over the years. Although these ranges are discontinued, they hold a special place in our hearts. It is one of the most delightful parts of selling toys – seeing new ranges and characters, and falling in love all over again.
Louna L’abeille
Who could forget Louna, the little bee? She is the brightest, most cheerful bee in the world.
What a cutie! She was released by Moulin Roty in 2000 and revolutionised the world of infancy, with a clear departure from pastel colours, for bright striking orange, fuschia, yellow and green. She is definitely one of my all time favourites. I love the colour combinations.
Dragobert
Keeping with the theme of bright colours, when we opened the toy shop in 2006, we sold a range of Dragobert toys. Dragobert and his friends were part of a circus, and they light up the stage with their beautiful bright, contrasting colours – perfect for visual development in infants.
Balthazar and Valentine
In 2010, Balthazar and Valentine were released into the world of childhood. The magical world of Balthazar and Valentine was filled with magical music and a special friend the bird, who sang of magic and whimsy. They always reminded me of a house in the country, filled with the delightful smells of a baked apricot pie.
Here they are, feasting on sweet treats, just as you would expect! Valentine and Balthazar are so sweet. Sometimes I hug Balthazar so tight before I go to sleep. He is a very friendly mouse!
Here you can see some of the colours of the range. Is there any nicer combination than blue, green and orange? Very sophisticated!
Les Loustics
There are too many Moulin Roty ranges to mention, and we loved all of them, but any kind of celebration of 10 years of our toy shop would be unfinished without mentioning Les Loustics. These gender neutral toys were the ones that we first brought back from France, before the idea of a toy shop had formed in our minds. They were our first encounter with the magical personalities of Moulin Roty toys.
These are just some of the ranges that touched our hearts over the course of the 10 years that we have been selling toys. We may still have limited stock of some of these ranges and others, so if you are keen to get the last toys available in these ranges across the world, get in touch!
