Mademoiselle Agathe is one of the 3 exquisite ‘petite’ sisters from Moulin Roty’s ‘Les Parisiennes’ range, which features stylish French chic and gorgeous French fabrics. Mademoiselle Agathe is 26 cm high – a perfect size for little hands to hold and she is sure to become a sweet companion and confidant.
Mademoiselle Agathe is wearing a pretty cotton dress with a flowered pattern in mustard, sage green and turquoise blue – finished with a turquoise bow. Her outfit is complemented with a soft, mustard coloured scarf. (Both her dress and scarf are removable.) Fully soft bodied, M’elle Agathe has embroidered eyes, painted eyelashes and painted stars on her cheeks! She has beautiful ginger velour hair that has been shaped into two side buns.
Playing with dolls provides children with the opportunity to make sense of their world, bringing it down to a manageable size and allowing them to describe and act out some of the things that they observe.
It also provides a rich opportunity to develop language skills and extend their vocabulary – from naming parts of the doll’s body and the clothing the doll is wearing to using verbs and action words for activities in which the child engages the doll, as well as exploring words for feelings.
Perhaps most importantly, doll play can help children to develop skills in nurturing and caring for others. During play, the child engages in activities that makes them responsible for the well-being of their own baby as they practice caring for it. In carrying, holding, feeding, and rocking a baby doll, children are practising being loving to others.
Moulin Roty’s ‘Les Parisiennes’ soft, rag dolls range was developed in 2010 for the slightly older child as an alternative to the traditional baby doll. The range epitomises Parisian chic, couture and elegance at the peak of fashion.
